Ambassador at Large Dr. Haissam Bou-Said started the UNOG Affairs of IHRC on UPR

In the context of His new appointment as IHRC Advisor on the United Nations Of Geneva Affairs and upon the newly registration at the UNIVERSAL PERIODIC REVUE (UPR), Ambassador Dr. Haissam Bou-Said started an UNA-USA Webinar: Universal Periodic Review on Gun Violence.

IHRC and UNA-USA are hosting a virtual UPR consultation Wednesday, August 21 at 8 p.m. ET to provide a forum for you to share your recommendations as to how the U.S. can end widespread gun violence. As stated in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, "Everyone has the right to life, liberty and security of person."

Next year, the U.S. is due for a review of its domestic human rights record. American citizens and NGOs are encouraged to organize and participate in local Universal Periodic Review (UPR) consultations where advocates speak up for the changes they want to see across the country. Feedback is then compiled in a report that's shared with the UN Human Rights Council.Time
